Quaint local feeling traditional Spanish bar- very appealing. Stop in for the homemade vermouth drink that they are known for. It's great and you can buy some to take home as a souvenir as well. Seeing people come in and buy that drink made it feel unique from other bars therefore the 5 stars

Cute little place. We came here for dinner. There were only 5-6 tables and they all looked full. We thought we would have to pick a different place. But it turned out, they had some seatings underground! Our waiter spoke fluent good English. We ordered 5-6 tapas for the 3 of us and we were plenty full and satiated. The tapas were quite unique! Black pudding dumplings, sliced cured duck with orange slices, pork cheek, tomatoes and mozzarella tower with mustard base sauce that's sweet and savory. My favorite was the meatballs in tomato sauce. We ordered a bread basket to scoop up the tomato sauce and the gravy from the pork cheek. They have a dedicated gluten-free menu with many options.

Tiny little bar area. Always busy and deservedly so. Great stuff. We had the usual stuff; beer, tinto de verano, vermouth and jamon. All were terrific. The not so typical squid in ink sauce stole the show. Really great stuff. Bartender was great. Great place.

One of the busy bars /cafes in Madrid, you come to La concha for vermù (local vermouth cocktails that are delicious and addicting). They also have food, really good tapas and free bites that are offered as part of the experience here. It's very busy so be aware that people crowd in here but no fret, drinks and food arrive-- there's a downstairs section too. The tapas were very good and tasty. Between 6 vermus and a few plates , that was dinner. Service: not brisk, the bar is under staffed. Tip: if you pick a table, order at the bar and take a seat. There is no wait staff. Came back another day and did not have the time to wait, it was packed inside at 8 pm so will return another day when I'm in Madrid again :) . End of Yelp.

This was the second stop on our Tapas tour. The sign outside said big selection of Cavas. We walked into a Bar area with high top tables. We again went to the basement given our group size. The tasting was for cheese and their House Vermouth. Three types of cheese-Manchego, Ideazabal (smoked) and Blue cheese and we tasted from mild to strong. Ideazabal was my favorite. Vermouth cocktail preparation was fun to watch. A spray of gin into the glass with an ice cube, olive. Semi-sweet and tasted as good as it looked. Servers were friendly and put on a drink mixology show for us. Perfect second stop!

My wife and I stumbled upon this bar by chance while wandering around El Centro in Madrid. We entered the bar to kill time before meeting friends for dinner. Initially, we intended to have just one drink, but after trying the vermut, we couldn't resist returning with our friends after dinner. With each order, a delightful tapa accompanied the drink. The vermut was the best I had in Madrid, and I regret not purchasing a couple of bottles to bring back to the States. Despite the small size of the place, requiring us to stand the whole time, it was definitely worth the visit.

I absolutely love this place and it got me into vermouth. The signature vermouth drink is delicious and comes with cute presentation in a martini glass. The drink always comes with a free little tapa, usually something cute as well. The bartenders are very friendly, welcoming, and funny. I haven't tried much of the food you have to order here, because usually I come here stuffed at the end of the night. I discovered this place on my 3rd to last trip to Spain, I definitely came here on the following trip (only once, because less than 24 hours). On my last trip I spent a total of 3 nights in Madrid, the first 2 nights I shut this place down with my parents. On my final night- by myself. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Madrid.

Lentil with foie gras - wow! Really enjoyed this one. The flavor worked really well together and it was not overly rich. Shrimp carpaccio - super light, great flavor/ seasoning. The olive oil took the dish to the next level. I'm not a big fan of vermouth but the House made vermouth here was the best I've tried.

Out of Country Review - Spain Grabbed a drink and some snacks at Taberna La Concha on Sunday afternoon. Absolutely worth a quick visit for a Vermu and some tapas. Quality: Perfect place to be introduced to Vermouth, as their Vermu cocktail is simple and incredible. Tapas are cheap and delicious, don't skip the Prawn Toast or the Foie Gras. The Cured Duck With Slices Of Orange was okay, but not on the same level. Quantity: Stiff drink and small snacks. Value: Very cheap. Ambiance: Taberna La Concha has a tiny bar space along a busy street in Madrid. Expect to squeeze in and stand during your entire visit, but it is worth it for a quick cocktail and a round of tapas. Crowd: Extremely busy. Service: Excellent despite chaotic space.
